Fish Curry
Light Bengali fish curry with turmeric and mustard — a staple for any meal in Ramadan.

🧂 Ingredients
500g fish (rohu or catfish)
1 onion sliced
2 tomatoes
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp mustard paste
1 tsp cumin powder
2 green chillies
Salt to taste
Mustard oil
📋 Steps

Marinate fish with turmeric and salt.

Lightly fry fish in mustard oil, set aside.

Fry onion in same oil until golden.

Add tomatoes, mustard paste and spices.

Add 1½ cups water and bring to boil.

Add fried fish and cook 5 minutes.

Add green chillies and serve with rice.
💡 Tips
Always use mustard oil for authentic Bengali flavor.
Don't overcook fish or it will break apart.
